Hello parents,

A few points to share as we wind down the pre-season and get closer a more regular practice and game flow.

• The Oakridge Grassroots Showcase has been cancelled this Saturday and the TeamsPages calendar has been updated. We will instead be* practicing from 12:30-2pm*.
• Our kits are in! Please arrive to this Saturday’s practice at 12:15 and look for Coach Chris’s red mini van. We will be handing out the new uniforms in the parking lot prior to practice.
• We plan to share the Red & White team lists ahead of the first scheduled game. The season will commence on Sunday, May 12.
• We will let everyone know as soon as the outdoor fields are ready for practices, and we will update the TeamsPages calendar accordingly.
• Now that the season is underway, we expect the commitment level to rise accordingly. We realize that many of our players have other activities on the go, but the expectation remains that the girls show up on time and ready to go.

The summer field schedule has been released and our practices will be held on Wednesdays 6-7:30pm and Saturdays 9-10:30am at Hazelden Park (on Hyde Park Rd. near Riverside Dr.) We’ll share out the season schedule for games once available. Once the city releases the fields for play, we will let everyone know and add all sessions to TeamsPages.

Also, a reminder to everyone to e-transfer your $20 payment for the team hoodies to oakridge2012girls@gmail.com ASAP.

Wanted to clarify that practices for the next two Saturdays (6th & 13th) at Byron Somerset are from 12-1:30pm, not 1:30 to 3pm as previously scheduled. I’m unable to remove the incorrect session times from our TeamsPages schedule.

Hello Parents,

I hope everyone had an enjoyable long weekend. We are looking forward to the season ahead and we hope you are too! Until we get our field times and locations, we’ll be holding practices in school gyms, BMO indoor centre, and at Western University fields. The calendar will be updated soon with times and locations for the month of April and into early May. A few other notes:

• The Oakridge Flames would like to enthusiastically thank our 2024 sponsors for their generous support: Leo Millon (LifeLike BioTissue) and John Smallwood (360 Health Group).
• Once we have more information to share about the season ahead, we will be holding a parent meeting. We encourage all parents to attend this informal, yet important meeting.
• For each of the upcoming sessions, please have your players bring appropriate footwear (running shoes or indoor soccer shoes for indoor sessions at school gyms and BMO, cleats for outdoor), a soccer ball, and a water bottle. Be ready to go 10 minutes ahead of time – we need to make the most of our allotted time.
• Please mark your attendance in the TeamsPages app. We have 29(!) girls and the coaches need to plan the practice/activity sessions accordingly.
